Application attributes

You can configure SD Elements to include custom Application attributes that apply to all applications. Customized attributes are displayed on an application’s edit page:

They can be edited like other application attributes.

Attribute details

A custom project attribute has the following details:

  • Type: The text or Date.

  • Label: A human-readable label that is displayed in the Application Edit form.

  • Slug: A unique system-generated identifier.

  • Message: An optional help/explanation message that is displayed in the Application Edit form.

  • Mark this attribute as optional: This indicates whether or not this attribute is optional.

Add an application attribute

Create a new application attribute by following the steps below:

Prerequisites:
  • The user has the system Super User permission.

Steps:
  1. Click System→Custom Attributes.

  2. Click Add New Attribute.

  3. Enter in the details for the attribute.

  4. Click Save.

The new attribute is now available in all applications.

Delete an application attribute

You can remove custom attributes from the sytem. Follow the steps below to remove one or more attributes from all applications:

Prerequisites:
  • The user has the system Super User permission.

Steps:
  1. Click System→Custom Attributes.

  2. Select the Delete checkbox beside each attribute you want to remove.

  3. Click Save.

This removes the attribute and its values from all applications in the system.

Warning
Removing an attribute and its values is permanent.

Reorder application attributes

Project attributes are displayed in the system according to their position in the System→Custom Attributes list. Update their order by following the steps below:

Prerequisites:
  • The user has the system Super User permission.

Steps:
  1. Click System→Custom Attributes.

  2. Click and drag the attributes in the list to match the required order.

  3. Click Save.

This updates the attribute list order for all applications.
